The Peruvian Ministry of Interior (Mininter) reported on Monday that Interior Minister César Astudillo did not travel to Trujillo due to a very delicate family situation. ^[1] Two parliamentary commissions in the Peruvian Senate agreed to summon six ministers of State to report on the status of their sectors and their work plans. ^[2] The committee unanimously approved the Regulations of the Parliamentary Friendship League of the Senate to institutionalize and order parliamentary diplomacy. ^[3] The Constitution, Regulations, and Foreign Relations Committee of the Peruvian Senate will receive Foreign Minister Carlos Espá y Garcés Alvear on September 8 to hear his detailed work plan. ^[4] Defense Minister Rafael Belaúnde told RPP that Minister Astudillo's absence was not due to a lack of commitment to his official functions and that he did perform tasks related to the police actions in Trujillo. ^[5] The Ministry of Interior stated that despite his physical absence from the conflict zone, Minister Astudillo led and permanently monitored police and intelligence actions while maintaining constant communication with high police command and Defense Minister Rafael Belaúnde. ^[6] The Health, Education, Culture, Women, and Digital and Social Development committee approved summoning ministers Luis Dyer (Health), José Antonio Chang (Education), Alberto Beingolea (Culture), Mara Seminario (Women and Vulnerable Populations), and Maritza Canales (Social Development and Inclusion). ^[7] The summoned ministers must present their main management guidelines, the policies they plan to execute, as well as the objectives, goals, and indicators established for the current year. ^[8] The new regulations establish two clear organs for the Parliamentary Friendship Leagues: the General Assembly and the Executive Committee. ^[9]
