Federal prosecutors have formally charged an agent from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with making false statements to investigators. ^[1] Los Angeles authorities arrested Benjamin Azariah Southworth, a former radio host, on Thursday for allegedly threatening the life of President Donald Trump. ^[2] Cedric Lodge, former manager of Harvard Medical School's morgue, was sentenced in December 2025 to 8 years in federal prison for participating in the theft and sale of human remains that had been donated for teaching and research. ^[3] Harvard Medical School agreed to pay $53 million to settle lawsuits brought by donor families. ^[4] The agent is accused of lying to investigators about the specific reasons that led him to fire his weapon. ^[5] The shooting involved a Venezuelan migrant who was the target of the agent's gunfire. ^[6] Federal prosecutors stated that Southworth used social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to express hatred toward President Donald Trump and incite violence. ^[7] The accused is charged with three counts of threatening the life of the US president and cyberharassing Trump's personal lawyer and family. ^[8] Congress is considering bipartisan legislation to strengthen oversight of bodies donated for education and research. ^[9] Federal prosecutors said that Cedric Lodge removed organs, skin, hands, faces, and other body parts from donated bodies, with the misconduct beginning in 2018 and continuing through at least March 2020. ^[10] The alleged incident took place during an immigration operation in the state of Minnesota. ^[11] Benjamin Azariah Southworth is expected to appear before the US District Court in Los Angeles for his initial charge reading. ^[12]
