In a separate statement issued hours earlier, the Sudan Doctors Network said SPLM-N forces attacked Debi and Luweri near Kauda on Thursday, killing more than 21 people including women and children, and specifically targeting the Otoro tribe, a minority group in the Nuba Mountains. ^[1] The Sudan Doctors Network said on Friday that SPLM-N forces shelled residential areas in Dilling, South Kordofan, killing at least five people including a child and injuring several others. ^[2] At least 26 people were killed and dozens injured in two separate attacks in Sudan's South Kordofan State, according to multiple sources. ^[3] According to the World Health Organization, nearly 34 million people, about two-thirds of Sudan's population, now require urgent humanitarian assistance. ^[4] The Sudan Doctors Network accused the SPLM-N of carrying out the artillery attack in Dilling, called it a clear violation of international humanitarian law, and urged the international community to take immediate action and exert pressure on SPLM-N leader Abdel Aziz al-Hilu to cease attacks against civilians. ^[5] An eyewitness in Dilling told Xinhua that artillery hit residential neighborhoods, killing about five civilians and injuring more than seven. ^[6] The casualties resulted from an attack by forces of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), an ally of paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), on Debi and Luwairi, south and west of Kauda. ^[7]
