In a joint operation involving the Sijin, police intelligence units, and the Prosecutor's Office, authorities captured an individual known as Bambam in Bogotá. ^[1] Police in Pitalito, Huila, arrested a couple suspected of local drug trafficking after receiving information from the community that allowed them to track the suspects on a motorcycle near the Liberator Bridge. ^[2] The criminal structure is presuntamente linked to the homicide of businessman Gustavo Aponte and his escort, which occurred on February 11. ^[3] The suspect, alias Bambam, is accused by authorities of being the second-in-command and an organizer of a criminal structure. ^[4] The couple and the seized illicit substances were placed under the custody of the National Attorney General's Office (Fiscalía General de la Nación) to face charges of trafficking, manufacturing, or carrying drugs. ^[5] The operation resulted in the seizure of more than 800 grams of marijuana, several doses of cocaine, and a synthetic substance known as tusi, which authorities believed was intended for sale. ^[6] The suspects were intercepted by officers from the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN) of the Huila Police Department after verifying details provided by citizens. ^[7] Authorities signaled that Bambam was attempting to leave the country at the time of his capture. ^[8]
