The AAA (Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados) reported on September 3, 2026, that the Carraízo reservoir in Puerto Rico rose for a fourth consecutive day to 39.11 meters, after climbing 19 centimeters in the prior 24 hours following recent rains. ^[1] Carlos Pesquera, engineer and former secretary of the Puerto Rico Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTOP), said in an interview on the program Lo Sé Todo that he is not available to preside over the AAA because his commitments do not allow it. ^[2] Héctor Joaquín Sánchez and Víctor Parés, legislators of the New Progressive Party (PNP), said that La Fortaleza, the governor's office, has begun a process to replace Luis González Delgado as president of the AAA. ^[3] The AAA reported on September 3, 2026, that as of that morning, 13 of the 19 reservoirs it monitors in Puerto Rico had increased their levels over the prior 24 hours, three stayed unchanged, and three decreased. ^[4] The AAA said on September 3, 2026, that it is still uncertain when it will resume the water rationing plan for customers supplied by the Carraízo reservoir in Puerto Rico. ^[5] The AAA said that as of September 3, 2026, the Guineo reservoir in Puerto Rico rose 39 centimeters to 902.21 meters and remains in 'overflow' category, while the Dos Bocas reservoir rose 40 centimeters to 90.04 meters under the same category. ^[6] Carlos Pesquera said he would be willing to preside over the AAA's Board of Governors if the law were changed, noting he is currently disqualified because he previously served as president of the New Progressive Party (PNP), which makes him a member of the board's directorate. ^[7] Héctor Joaquín Sánchez, a PNP legislator, asked Governor Jenniffer González to accelerate the process to replace Luis González Delgado as AAA president, saying he considers González Delgado not qualified for the position. ^[8]
