A Gallup poll released on September 4 recorded the Democratic Party of Korea at 38% support and the People Power Party at 30% support. ^[1] Jo Gu-jin, head of the Jo Country Innovation Party's Innovation Policy Research Institute, publicly criticized President Lee and the Democratic Party regarding recent government decisions on tax policy and the prosecution of President Lee. ^[2] Kim Jun-hung, floor leader of the Jo Country Innovation Party, called on the government to stop reviewing the deployment of troops to the Hormuz Strait on April 4. ^[3] The gap between the two major parties narrowed to 8 percentage points, which is the first time since the current administration began that the difference has been a single-digit figure. ^[4] The poll surveyed 1,001 voters between September 1 and 3, with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. ^[5] Kim Jun-hung argued that sending South Korean warships into the middle of a military conflict would expose the nation and its soldiers to danger. ^[6] Kim Jun-hung criticized the government for allegedly exposing possibilities regarding the Hormuz Strait deployment and then denying them when controversy arose. ^[7] Kim Jun-hung demanded the government clarify whether it is actually reviewing the deployment of ships or the expansion of the Cheonghae Unit's mission. ^[8]
