Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated at the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, that Tehran would immediately take reciprocal action if the United States returns to its commitments under the June memorandum of understanding. ^[1] Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, claimed on X that a US strike on Tuesday targeted a wedding in the Kuhstak residential neighborhood of Sarek city. ^[2] Iranian leaders warned that the crimes committed by the US in Minab and Lamerd would not go unpunished. ^[3] Iranian officials stated that US strikes killed civilians in Minab, Lamerd, and Kuhestak. ^[4] Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the United States must return to its commitments and to what its president signed under the deal. ^[5] President Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel of violating the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law through attacks carried out on June 13, 2025, and February 28, 2026. ^[6] The United States and Iran resumed attacks after weeks of the US enforcing a naval blockade of Iranian ports and Tehran closing the Strait of Hormuz. ^[7] Baghaei stated that the attack resulted in the death or injury of more than 50 innocent civilians, including men, women, and children. ^[8] The US strike was launched on Tuesday against Iranian missile platforms. ^[9] Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that shielding a 'junior Satan' that commits the same atrocities is also 'THE Great Satan'. ^[10] The strikes reportedly killed children at a school in Minab and a sports hall in Lamerd. ^[11] Baghaei warned that governments and international institutions remaining silent on these illegal acts are complicit and that silence will not prevent future consequences. ^[12]
