A massive power outage affected hundreds of thousands of users across four states in southeastern Mexico during the night of Monday. ^[1] The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, is conserving and studying artifacts recovered during the construction of the Maya Train. ^[2] Ana Paty Peralta de la Peña, the municipal president of Benito Juárez in Quintana Roo, faced the withdrawal of her United States visa while promoting local gastronomic businesses. ^[3] CFE workers performed maneuvers to repair the affected installations and gradually recover the supply, restoring service to 100% in the four affected states. ^[4] The CFE initially reported that the failure originated from the disconnection of two transmission lines but later clarified that vandalism caused damage to the infrastructure. ^[5] The Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) reported that the outage affected 745,533 users, with Yucatán accounting for the largest share of 430,840 users. ^[6] The collection includes a 1894 centavo coin, a Maya patolli board made of stucco, and various ceramic objects recovered from the Maya Train project. ^[7] The Conservation and Restoration Laboratory (LCRC) in Chetumal maintains under custody 1,163 pre-Hispanic objects of ceramic, lithic, malacological materials, and architectural elements from sections 6 and 7. ^[8] The Laboratory of Historical Materials Analysis and Miscellaneous (LMHM) holds 1,505 records of glass, metal, plastic, stucco, organic materials, and coins from sections 1 to 7 of the Maya Train. ^[9] In response to investigations by the FGR (Federal Attorney's Office) regarding her visa, Peralta stated on social media that the information about her and her family is false and that her documentation is in order. ^[10] Peralta visited Taquería Poc-Chuc in Chetumal, describing it as one of her favorite stops and noting that the establishment is a 100 percent family business founded in the 1980s. ^[11] The mayor described the tacos at Taquería Poc-Chuc as 'the most spectacular in the world,' served with green sauce and pork rinds (chicharrón). ^[12]
