The Danish security and intelligence agency PET revealed that Russia has concrete plans for sabotage against Denmark. ^[1] In an interview with the Danish newspaper Berlingske, Emil Gräsholm, head of Denmark's counterintelligence agency PET, said Danish authorities have uncovered plans for Russian sabotage targeting defense industry companies that support Ukraine. ^[2] Water left in a car exposed to high temperatures and direct sunlight can become unsafe to drink due to chemical migration from the plastic container and bacterial growth. ^[3] Ashley C. Miller, M.P.H., CP-FS, senior program coordinator at the National Environmental Health Association, stated that refilling clean and undamaged single-use plastic bottles one or several times with safe drinking water is unlikely to cause significant food safety risks. ^[4] PET described the Russian sabotage plans as very concrete and specific. ^[5] PET disclosed that Russia is attempting to hire Danish proxies on the internet to carry out sabotage. ^[6] PET officials stated that they are already observing planning activities by Russian operatives. ^[7] Gräsholm said Russia is attempting to recruit ordinary Danes, often without their awareness, to take photos or videos of companies or facilities that could be used for sabotage plans, and he urged Danes to be suspicious of such requests. ^[8] Gräsholm said the intelligence agency expects the threat to keep growing in scope and complexity, that it is aimed at Ukrainian weapons manufacturers in Denmark, and that Russia has a broader interest in Denmark's defense industry. ^[9] Gräsholm said the main goal of the Russian sabotage is to stop specific deliveries for Ukraine's defense and to intimidate Denmark into ceasing its support for Ukraine and refraining from strengthening its own defense capabilities. ^[10] Cooling, freezing, or boiling water that has been exposed to heat in a car does not remove migrated substances or reverse the chemical changes. ^[11] Most water bottles are made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which releases substances into the water more rapidly when exposed to high temperatures and direct sunlight. ^[12]
