Heavy rain across Himachal Pradesh triggered landslides that blocked several roads in the state. ^[1] Heavy rain caused a landslide near Nehli that completely blocked the Nahan-Dadahu road in Sirmaur district on 2026-09-02. ^[2] Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Nahan, Rajiv Sankhyan, said on 2026-09-02 that debris removal work is ongoing and the road is likely to be restored by Wednesday evening. ^[3] In Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, a rock that fell from a hillside struck a cowshed and killed a cow that was tied inside it. ^[4] Over a 24-hour period, rainfall in Himachal Pradesh was recorded at 186.6 mm at Naina Devi, 140.0 mm at Malrawan, 102.0 mm at Kasoli, 99.0 mm at Ghaghas, 98.2 mm at Nagrota Surian, 90.4 mm at Brahmani, 81.2 mm at Slapar, 77.6 mm at Kahu, 69.0 mm at Kangra, 64.0 mm at Bilaspur, 58.8 mm at Nahan, 42.8 mm at Shimla, 32.2 mm at Dharamshala, 28.7 mm at Sarahan, and 39.0 mm at Neri. ^[5] The heavy rain caused considerable damage to National Highway 305 in Himachal Pradesh. ^[6] Rajiv Sankhyan, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Nahan, said that travelers from Nahan to Dadahu can use the Jamta-Birla route as an alternative. ^[7] The landslide deposited a large amount of debris on the road, halting vehicle movement in both directions between Nahan and Dadahu. ^[8]
