President Abelardo De La Espriella mandated that all decisions, announcements, public policies, programs, results, and administrative acts of the national government must be disseminated exclusively through official institutional channels of the Presidency and executive branch entities. ^[1][2][3] Ministers, directors of administrative departments, and other legal representatives of executive branch entities must coordinate and consult with the Presidential Press and Communications Secretariat before granting interviews or making statements to the media. ^[4] The directive explicitly states that personal accounts of public officials cannot serve as primary or official channels for announcing government decisions, measures, policies, figures, or results. ^[5] Directors of national-level entities are also required to coordinate with the Secretariat for Communications and Press prior to issuing public declarations. ^[6] The regulation requires that this coordination with the Secretariat for Communications and Press happens in advance of any public declaration. ^[7]
