The Colombian National Army launched an offensive in Zaragoza, Antioquia, to neutralize a key operational center of the Clan del Golfo substructure known as 'Manuel Alexander Ariza Rosario'. ^[1] President Abelardo De La Espriella announced via an institutional message the development of a military operation executed in the municipality of Zaragoza, in Bajo Cauca, Antioquia. ^[2] President Abelardo De La Espriella confirmed that the Army took down alias Momo, leader of the Clan del Golfo. ^[3] Uniformed members of the National Army neutralized several members of the substructure Manuel Alexander Ariza Rosario, belonging to the Clan del Golfo organization. ^[4] Alexander Romero Tano, alias '80', was captured; he is a veteran of the conflict with over 30 years of criminal history and served as a 'caletero' (arms and money storer) and radio operator for the substructure. ^[5] Military forces dismantled a communications hub and seized a large illegal weapons depot containing 8 rifles, 2 pistols, 1,330 cartridges, 1,200 detonators, 731 meters of detonating cord, and 9 improvised grenades designed for drones. ^[6] The operation resulted in the capture of two suspected members of the Clan del Golfo, the surrender of a third individual, and the recovery of a minor who had been recruited by the organization. ^[7]
