EU Foreign Policy Spokesperson Christian Wigand stated that there must be no forced displacement of Gazans and that Gaza is an integral part of a future Palestinian state. ^[1] The European Union rejected any attempt by Israel to displace the Palestinian population from the Gaza Strip. ^[2] The United Nations accused Israel of possible ethnic cleansing in its report titled 'Destruction of Palestinian Refugee Camps in the Reoccupied North of the West Bank' regarding the forced displacement of more than 33,000 Palestinians from refugee camps in the occupied West Bank in 2025. ^[3] Israeli ministers proposed formulas to facilitate the voluntary migration of 250,000 Gazans in the first year, rising to 1.86 million over seven years. ^[4] The EU position aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2735, which rejects attempts to alter the demographic composition or territory of the Gaza Strip. ^[5] According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, the escalation of the conflict between the Islamist organization and Israel has left 73,456 killed and nearly 174,500 injured since October 2023. ^[6] The European Union rejected any attempt by Israel to displace the Palestinian population of Gaza after Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir presented the Disconnection 710 plan to encourage the 'voluntary migration' of Gazans over the next 7 years. ^[7] The UN report states that Israeli security forces consolidated control over the refugee camps of Jenin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarem and forcibly displaced their entire population a few days after the start of the Iron Wall operation. ^[8]
