Colombian authorities located and recovered a truck that was stolen by members of an armed group in the southwestern Huila department nine days after the incident. ^[1] Richard José Espinal Quintero, alias Coty, was captured in Manizales by a coordinated operation between the Gaula of the National Police, the Police Intelligence Directorate, the General Prosecutor's Office, and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). ^[2] The captured individual, alias Coty, was identified as the main liaison for the drug trafficking activities of the transnational terrorist organization Tren de Aragua. ^[3] The recovery was ultimately achieved thanks to information supplied by the community, which directed authorities to the location where the truck was hidden. ^[4] The theft took place in the El Mármol sector during an illegal checkpoint allegedly installed by suspected members of the Carolina Ramírez armed group. ^[5] The truck was stolen on August 24 when armed men intercepted its occupants in the road corridor connecting Isnos with Popayán. ^[6] A Red Notice from INTERPOL was issued for the arrest of alias Coty, valid in 196 countries, alongside arrest warrants for terrorism, terrorism financing, arms and ammunition trafficking, and aggravated extortion. ^[7] Investigations determined that alias Coty entered Colombian territory four years ago with the specific mission to structure and coordinate routes for the mass shipment of cocaine and heroin from the Magdalena and La Guajira departments to strategic markets in the United States, Central America, and Europe. ^[8]
