Amanda Leigh Quinonez, 34, a former language arts teacher and water polo coach at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Riverside, California, pleaded guilty in March 2026 to two counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object, one count of providing sexually explicit material to a minor, and one count of lewd acts on a child, according to Patch. ^[1] Quinonez sobbed and apologized in court, saying she had failed as a teacher, and broke down in tears as the victim's mother condemned her sexual relationship with the student. ^[2] Quinonez was arrested in April 2022 after police were alerted about her behavior by unnamed witnesses. ^[3] The victim's mother told the court that her son had gone through extreme hardship because of the abuse, and that both the victim and his older brother were forced to leave the school due to bullying from other students as a result of the relationship. ^[4] Greg Anderson reported that well over six inches of rain fell from the end of July until the present date of August 31, 2026, which revitalized the pastures and soybean crop. ^[5] Greg Anderson, a farmer in northeast Nebraska, stated that his corn and soybean crops have made a remarkable turnaround after an incredible dry spring and early summer. ^[6] The USDA's latest crop progress report rated Nebraska's corn crop as 58 percent good to excellent. ^[7] The USDA rated the soybean crop as 65 percent good to excellent, with 95 percent of the crop setting pods and 11 percent dropping leaves. ^[8]
