On August 12, 2006, Bancolombia installed the first banking correspondent in Colombia at the Supermercado y Autoservicio El Danubio Azul in Chipatá, Santander. ^[1] Bancolombia celebrated the 20th anniversary of its banking correspondent network on August 12, 2026, marking the start of the first correspondent at a supermarket in Chipatá, Santander, on August 12, 2006. ^[2] The current Bancolombia correspondent network includes 28,000 points located in 1,094 municipalities, which represents 99% of the national territory. ^[3] The network processes more than $350 trillion annually and is utilized by approximately 13 million Colombians each month. ^[4] As of the reporting period, the Bancolombia correspondent network includes over 28,000 attention points distributed across 1,094 municipalities. ^[5] The 1,094 municipalities covered by the Bancolombia correspondent network represent 99% of the national territory. ^[6] 85% of Bancolombia's correspondents are local establishments such as neighborhood stores, stationery shops, hardware stores, and general stores. ^[7]
