Astrid Piñeiro Vázquez, Procuratora de las Mujeres (Women's Procurator) of Puert Rico, said that more than 200 residents of the Residencial Doctor Pila housing complex in Ponce participated in a gender violence prevention outreach session. ^[1] The Office of the Prosecutor of Women (OPM) held a community impact event at the Dr. Pila Residential complex in Ponce on an unspecified date in the afternoon. ^[2] Astrid Piñeiro Vázquez, Women's Procurator, stated that her office aims to bring its services and resources to every corner of Puert Rico and that violence prevention requires walking the communities and listening to people first-hand. ^[3] The outreach activity, held on a Tuesday starting at 3:00 pm, included legal and preventive orientation, emotional wellbeing services, informational tables, and recreational activities. ^[4] Approximately 200 children, youth, and adults from the community attended the event, which took place between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ^[5] OPM Prosecutor Astrid Piñeiro Vázquez emphasized that their mission is to bring OPM services and resources directly to every corner of Puerto Rico to prevent violence. ^[6] The event was part of the 'When a Woman Raises Her Voice' campaign aimed at eradicating gender-based violence and providing preventive resources to vulnerable sectors. ^[7] Astrid Piñeiro Vázquez stated that raising one's voice is the first and most courageous step to break the cycle of gender-based violence. ^[8] Governor Jenniffer González Colón's public policy aims to bring services closer to the community and combat domestic violence. ^[9] Juan Rosario Hernández, administrator of Puert Rico's Public Housing Administration, said that agency participation brings orientation and services directly to communities. ^[10]
