The Seoul Rehabilitation Court approved Homeplus's corporate rehabilitation plan on 2026-09-02, allowing the company to proceed with debt repayment according to the plan. ^[1] The Seoul Rehabilitation Court approved Homeplus's second revised rehabilitation plan on 2025-08-02, about 1.5 years after the discount store chain filed for court rehabilitation. ^[2] The court said it will conclude the rehabilitation procedure once payments are fully made according to the plan. ^[3] The court said that if payments are not made as planned, it will revoke the approval and declare bankruptcy. ^[4] The Seoul Rehabilitation Court's Rehabilitation Division 4, led by presiding judge Jeong Jun-young, announced that the rehabilitation plan passed with 100% approval from secured creditors, 75.90% from unsecured creditors, and 100% from shareholders. ^[5] At the interested parties meeting, the rehabilitation plan was approved by votes of 100% from the secured creditors group, 75.9% from the rehabilitation creditors group, and 100% from the shareholders group. ^[6] Homeplus's plan includes selling 23 self-owned stores by February 2028 to raise about 1.41 trillion won, with proceeds first used to repay Meritz trust collateral claims, and then using 38 stores as collateral to raise about 590 billion won by February 2030 and 910 billion won by 2037. ^[7] The court approved the plan even though the public interest creditors' consent rate was 66.3%, below the court's requested 80% target, which the court said was not an absolute condition. ^[8]
