Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Tuesday that relations between Russia and Turkey are currently at the highest possible level. ^[1] The Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia reported that customs officers detained a Russian tourist at Volgograd Airport after discovering a deer skull in his luggage. ^[2] Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek. ^[3] Erdogan said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek that Turkish-Russian relations are at a much higher level than at any other point in history. ^[4] Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the significance of Russian tourists for Turkey is very great and multifaceted. ^[5] Customs officers found a deer skull attached to a trophy shield inside the man's luggage. ^[6] Employees of the Federal Tax Service opened two administrative cases against the tourist for failing to declare goods and for violating prohibitions on export. ^[7] The incident occurred on a flight route from Volgograd to Turkey, where the tourist was detained while passing through the green channel. ^[8] President Erdoğan offered condolences to countries that lost citizens in the floods that occurred in Nepal last week. ^[9] President Erdoğan stated that Turkey has taken responsibility for resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. ^[10] Erdogan added that the two countries have strong partnership relations in agriculture and energy as well as in other spheres. ^[11]
