The National Weather Service (SMN) reported on September 1 that heavy rainfall is expected to prevail across most of Mexico. ^[1] A tornado warning was issued for Burlington County, New Jersey, on September 1 after a local meteorologist reported radar-indicated rotation over Mount Holly. ^[2] The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan issued a heat warning for all of Puerto Rico on Wednesday, effective from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ^[3] The National Weather Service warned that an ongoing heatwave will continue to cause damage in at least four entities. ^[4] The SMN specified that the most intense storms, including lightning and hail, will concentrate in 26 states of the Mexican Republic. ^[5] Another tropical wave will increase the probability of rain during the second half of the workweek. ^[6] Stronger rain and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon due to remaining humidity and local effects, maintaining a risk of flooding between limited and elevated. ^[7] The National Weather Service reported that additional showers and thunderstorms will cross the east of Puerto Rico during the morning. ^[8] A local meteorologist stated that a severe thunderstorm with radar-indicated rotation was over Mount Holly, moving southeast at 25 mph. ^[9] Residents were advised to take cover immediately in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor. ^[10] The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines heat exhaustion as a condition caused by prolonged heat exposure and heat stroke as a medical emergency that can lead to organ damage or death. ^[11] The NWS indicated that high temperatures combined with humidity could produce heat indices reaching up to 106 degrees Fahrenheit, especially in coastal and urban zones. ^[12]
