The General Directorate of Publications and Editorial Promotion (DGPyFE) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) invited the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) to participate in an artistic intervention on a wall at the IMAN campus entrance for the eighth edition of the Filuni International Book Fair. ^[1] Villa Mosaic, a private villa membership brand, opened a new villa named 'Mono' in Yangpyeong, South Korea, on the last day of the previous month. ^[2] Alejandro Herrerías Silva, a professor and independent illustrator at the Faculty of Arts and Design, was invited to lead the project this year, replacing the artist-led workshop model of the previous year. ^[3] The resulting mural, titled 'The Dance at Dawn of Time,' was developed over six days of work by students under the guidance of Alejandro Herrerías Silva. ^[4] This collaboration marks the second consecutive year the Faculty of Arts and Design has participated in the Filuni Book Fair, having previously worked on a section of the wall in 2025. ^[5] The design focuses on integrating the building with the surrounding forest and valley rather than adding multiple elements, emphasizing the beauty of the space itself and the surrounding nature. ^[6] The name 'Mono' derives from the Greek word 'monos', signifying being alone or singular, reflecting the brand's direction of enjoying private time in nature. ^[7] The second floor includes a space for tea and drinks, a stone balcony garden, and a large circular fire pit made of hundreds of wooden materials. ^[8]
